Over the last few months, it seems that Aiden's language has really started to expand. He is probably now at the language level of a three year old, give or take a few months - which is big huge super wonderful news. School has been a big part of this I think, just being around other little ones his age has been really great for him. I have also been trying to encourage more speaking and independant behaviors here at home.
Everytime that he says something new, or repeats part of a song that he learned in school, I get goosebumps. He is still not able to recall events when I ask questions like "what happened in school today?", but we are working so so hard on that.
ANY language at all in our house is good language, so when he finished using the bathroom today, looked into the toilet and said "good job turd!"it was followed by super huge high fives and lots of giggles from me. It is amazing to see how far he has come in his expressive language, and can be somewhat stifling to see how far he still has to go. So I celebrate the everyday, the "i love you's", the little bit of independence that shows what a super trooper he is. And I am so thankful to have him in my life. So so thankful.
